Breaking: Parker Is Out of 19th District State Senate Race
Jul 7th, 2009 by thatsElbert

Parker has apparently parked the car. According to reports on Twitter from the SCCOR debate tonight, Eddy Parker has dropped out of the race for the 19th District State Senate seat. The Democrats vow to have a candidate for the August 3rd election.
In other election news, the Libertarians have a candidate in the race, Wendy Jones.

Rep. Joe Booth has his campaign on Facebook. You can find him here.

That’s big news. This offers an interesting opportunity for the district Democrats to go back to the Adams’ family. They almost have to now or alienate the supporters in a special election.
I take full credit for this development. I was complimentary (sincerely) towards Mr. Parker in my post on this race. No doubt the Democrat powers that be read this, and came to the conclusion that they had to get this guy out of there.
There are times I don’t realize the power of my own words.
A third party sideshow may assure the numerical status quo for the Democrats. This does not bode well for the District and the State.
Perhaps cult-of-personality may win and perpetuate a dynasty.
Can issues be made an issue or will name recognition carry the day?
“A third-party sideshow…” – Hey, I welcome ANYONE with NEW ideas. At least hear her out.
Having a 3rd person in this race does not help Joe Booth. Republicans were only able to win in the 41st special election with 3 people in the race plus a popular write-in due to the help and diligence of a great Republican, Garrett Wozniak, and his team.
Organizers in the 19th Senate race need to take note of this and work on Voter ID and GOTV now.
