America, NOT the Terrorist Will be on Trial

Nov 23rd, 2009 by Timothy Pancoast

The guilt of the terrorists is already clear, some of them have even admitted it already.  However, according to AP reporter Karen Matthews, “NEW YORK – The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.”

As everyone with a brain (aside from our illustrious Attorney General Eric Holder, the whole Obama Administration, and their brainwashed followers) predicted it will be the US that is put on trial, not the terrorists.  They intend to plead not guilty.  Of course the world will know that they are guilty, that will not change.

Personally I am not worried about what the 9/11 terrorist have to say.  They have no credibility with any respectable person in this world.  However, their lawyers are another matter.  The lawyers, Holder included, will do more to tarnish this nation in the eyes of its own citizens and the rest of the world than the terrorists themselves could ever hope to do.

So congratulations AG Holder this is quite possibly the first time any nation will ever be put on trial for having over 3,000 of its citizens killed in cold blood by a savage act of terrorism, and it is all thanks to you.  You can pick up your pink slip any time during the next three years.  After that we are forcing you out along with the rest of this administration.

The wierd part is that he had guilty pleas in the bank. Only a fool would turn down certain victory for a pr show.

What concerns me even more than what the lawyers will do (which is a real concern) is the national security secrets that will come out either in open trial or through a leak. The trail of the first World Trade Center bombing gave them valuable information. It is hard to believe that we are voluntarily tossing guilty pleas in front of Military Tribunals for that. Holder is the worst example of an AG in our life time. He is as much of a liablity to our security as Ashcroft was an asset.

I agree while the dog and pony show is bad, the information that will be exposed to those who would do us harm is scarier.

American justice is a PR show?

  5. on 23 Nov 2009 at 01:205David Anderson

It is in the hands of the ruling regime. They already had an appropriate venue and congressionally established tribunals. In some cases, they even had intended guity pleas. KSM was even ready to accept the death penalty. What could one gain by tossing that aside? Is he going to get two death penalties?

This trial has nothing to do with American Justice. It has everything to do with a vanity trail for Holder and company. Unfortunately, it comes at a risk to your safety and mine. If he realizes that, then he is evil. If he does not, then he is a fool. I believe the best in people so I choose the latter until shown otherwise.

America stands to gain far more by showing its justice system to the world rather than a quick conviction and execution at a drumhead tribunal.

  7. on 23 Nov 2009 at 09:527Hube

Ah yes, noman — once again showing his historical ignorance. What a surprise.

  9. on 23 Nov 2009 at 11:399Timothy Pancoast

Noman, the American justice system has been a PR show, and merged with entertainment at least since OJ Simpson. This trial of terrorist in NYC will only serve to further errode the credibility and integrity of our justic system.

If the point was to show the world how great our justice system was then we could just film a day in traffic court. This is not smart. The pink slips are coming. Please stop trying to create meaning out of nothing just so that you can continue to support the current administration. It is unbecoming.

Noman insults the military justice system which is designed to accomodate these matters. In many ways it is superior to civy courts.

I refrained from saying this all through the Kerry Swiftboating, and the McCain “Country First” campaign, but now I have to say it:

Wow, you guys really *do* hate America.

  12. on 23 Nov 2009 at 12:0412Hube

LOL! Just imagine if anyone here had said that to noman for his opposition to the Iraq War or any other innumerable disagreements.

  13. on 23 Nov 2009 at 12:2213Timothy Pancoast

Honestly I do hate what has been done to many of America’s institutions. They are no longer what the Constitution or our founders set them up to be. Our court system was designed for the pursuit of justice, yet it has been turned to the pursuit of curiousity and entertainment. This should not be.

“LOL! Just imagine if anyone here had said that to noman for his opposition to the Iraq War or any other innumerable disagreements.”

I love having noman around. He is part of the “Blame America First, Hate America” Marxist crowd whose constant whining converts more to Conservativism than my words can.

The right to a trial in an American court is not a natural right, granted by God at birth; it is instead a privilege that is bestowed upon, specifically, citizens. Enemy combatants, illegal aliens, and such criminals are not citizens, and therefore do not possess this right. If the question is instead to be, “Should non-citizens possess this right?”, it should be discussed with the intention of amending the Constitution, but without taking this step, the Obama administration is acting illegally, not to mention stupidly, in giving an enemy combatant a citizen’s trial.
