Admitting The Truth

Apr 30th, 2010 by Frank Knotts

With the passage of the law in Arizona, giving police officers the authority to question and verify the legal status of people that they suspect of being illegal aliens, there has been a lot of talk about racism.

The critics of the law say that it gives officers the power to racially profile Hispanics. The critics say that officers will be pulling over every Hispanic just to check their citizen status.

Every time that the Democrats and the liberal media start talking about how it is racial profiling to check Hispanics for legal status, they are admitting the truth.

The truth is that we have a runaway problem with illegal aliens that are Hispanic. We know this. Even the Democrats and the liberal media know this.

So when a state, such as Arizona, takes matters into their own hands, which by the way they have the Constitutional authority to do, they are said to be racially profiling.

How come no one gets upset when the FBI racially profiles a serial killer as being white and between the ages of thirty and forty? Because statistics show that the majority of serial killers are white and between the ages of thirty and forty.

Statistics also show that the largest number of illegal aliens are Hispanic. This is not racially motivated, it is fact. Are their illegal Canadians here? Yes. Are there Irish and Germans here illegally? Most likely. There are also without doubt radical Islamist here waiting to attack us, some may even have come in disguised as Hispanics.

So should Arizona officers be wasting their time checking the status of grandma O’Hara? You know, like the airport security is forced to do, while passing over arab passengers, just to seem as if there is no racial profiling going on.

Look I believe that anyone who is stopped for reasonable cause and who is suspected of not being here legally, should be verified, no matter their skin color or their language skills. But we have to admit the truth here. We have a serious problem with Hispanic illegal aliens. Our school systems are not being overburdened with illegal Irish immigrants. Our hospitals are not being forced to shut down due to illegal aliens from Canada(well maybe they are a little bit, due to socialized medicine in Canada, but that will change as soon as our plan goes into effect). Our prisons aren’t overrun with German gang members .

So once we admit the truth of the problem, then we can begin to solve it. Look if you have a dripping faucet in your up stairs bathroom, and a ruptured pipe under the kitchen sink, which are you going to fix first?

I say we fix the ruptured pipe on the southern border and then we can fix those dripping Canadians.

Asking Hispanics to prove their status in Arizona is no more racism, than investigating white males in an area surrounding what seems to be a serial killing. In both cases, crimes have been committed by un-known suspects. In both cases officers must use all of their instincts and resources to solve the crime. We wouldn’t expect law enforcement to turn their backs on a serial killing, just so as not to be accused of racial profiling would we?

But I guess serial killers are not a large enough potential voting block to attract the attention of the Democrats and the liberal media.

At one point the Irish were the second largest block of illegals, but the improved Irish economy remedied that.

Mexico should try some tax cuts and free markets.

  2. on 01 May 2010 at 05:562Frank Knotts

Yes David, and while during the great influx of Irish immigrants of the 1800′s I’m sure some came in by other means, most came through the front door and were processed. As for Mexico trying tax cuts and free markets, well sure if they actually wanted to help solve our problem, but they are actually benefitting from all of the money being sent back to Mexico. Also many of the illegals are not from Mexico but other impoverished nations.
This is a problem that we can solve, we need only the political will to do so.

Now that’s the logic I remember, and can agree with from Frank the “mfc”. keep it up Frank.

First of all, the police need another offense (such as traffic) before pursuing an illegal alien investigation. Secondly, it is Latinos who are overrunning the southwest, hence, there’s little need to look for red-headed Irishmen. If a short, white male with a limp robs a bank, you don’t ‘profile’ black basketball players…Latinos fit the description of the perpetrators. If, on a traffic stop, they produce a valid license, they are cleared.

The more people the police pull over and check out, the safer we will be. The safest would be if 100% of drivers were stopped. Of course, then you will have crossed over into trading liberty for security. And probably not that much more real security either. The trade isn’t worth it.

  6. on 01 May 2010 at 13:106Al

The most absurd thing of all is that some are seeking boycotts of Arizona businesses. These are folks well-removed from the southwest. Not having to live there makes it easy for them to pronounce judgement. What’s that old saying, “walk a mile in my shoes?” It certainly applies in this situation. I can see the problem in this area, shudder to think what those people must be going through down there. Arizona used to be a beautiful state, very desirable as a retirement destination. This illegal immigration problem has changed all that.

I don’t mean 160 years ago. There are still 50k Irish fighting for amnesty under the 1986 law. I believe a half a million Irish got it under that law out of 2.7 million applicants from all nationalities. Emigration from Ireland slowed to a trickle because of the improved economy. Right now 20% of Irish are thinking about leaving, but that won’t happen because there really is no place to go.

Ireland has 6.3 million people, but 80 plus million around the world. Does Mexico really want the same fate? Emmigration is not a viable policy for a nation in the long run.

My point was that it is not a Mexican issue, but an economic issue. The cries of Racism are premature.

I am not a big fan of the law, but it is being mischaraterized. That is why I posted it as an embed so people could see all 17 pages.

We all have to provide identification when a police officer requests it unless you teach at an Ivy League school. A driver’s license in AZ only goes to those here legally. If someone didn’t have it, why not ask for proof of legal residence. An alien is suppose to keep it on them. Let’s wait and see how it is enforced before we say the sky is falling. The law is much more moderate than the critics think.

I agree with you so far.

  8. on 01 May 2010 at 21:508RSmitty

Interesting…one of your frequent and more accepted commenters came to our blog and said it was racist to assume anything on this being about Hispanics, yet, here is your blog. I guess that makes you racist. Just using his logic.

  9. on 02 May 2010 at 07:439Frank Knotts

RSmitty, it is not “JUST” about Hispanics, but it is cleary about Hispanics. Illegal Hispanic aliens are our largest immigration problem currently. It would be irrisponsible and foolish to deny this. It would be counter productive to ignore it.
Are we to give a free pass to anyone of color? Just so we avoid the appearence of racism. Are they allowed to committ any crime? Based on the fact that they can’t be questioned due to therir skin color.
The overriding issue here is that crimes have been committed, somewhere, depending on whose numbers you use, between seventeen and twenty five million times. Everytime that another illegal crosses the border, another crime has been committed. If we are willing to look the other way and ignore this, then we are finished as a sovereign nation.
The question becomes, how to solve this problem? I believe our best defence is our earliest defence, at the border. Stop them before they are even in the contry. Unfortunately the Federal government has shown no real desire to do this. So that has lead to Arizona and most likely more states along the border to pass this law.
I also feel that targeting employers is a good way to discourage the illegals from coming here, no work? Fewer will come. Candidate for congress Kevin Wade suggested putting a heavy tax on any money wired south of the border. This could be a problem if your college student was in Mexico for spring break and ran out of money, but at least it is another arrow in the quiver.
Amnisty is not , and should not be an option, due to the fact it will only incourage more illegals to come to America.

Sort of like the past twenty years of ‘sobriety checkpoints?’

  11. on 02 May 2010 at 09:3011Frank Knotts

Rick, don’t foreget seat belt checks and car seat checks.
And while we are trying to make it harder on “ILLEGAL” aliens, let us push for english as the official language. Let’s see them applying for health and human services in english.

  12. on 03 May 2010 at 09:5612Rick

I cannot conceive of living in a nation and not making the learning of the language an immediate priority. Are they just intellectually lazy, or just plain stupid?
