A Report from the Front–Why O’Donnell Defies Gravity

Sep 4th, 2010 by David Anderson

Guest Opinion by Donald Ayotte
September 4, 2010
O’Donnell For Senate

Republican Conservative, Christine O’Donnell’s bid for Delaware’s US Senate Seat seems to defy the law of gravity as she wages battle, not only against entrenched Republican Candidate, Mike Castle but against the entire echelon of the republican hierarchy and the media.

Although her run for the Senate has more ups and downs than a seesaw, her intrepid sprint toward the primary finish line on September fourteenth brings national as well as heavy local support and donations.

The excitement in her camp is overwhelming and contagious, drawing people from every walk of life. National celebrities Michelle Malkin and Roseanne Cash have recently endorsed her over her opponent and many others assuredly will follow.

She began her presentation at the 9-12 Delaware Patriots meeting by shouting into the microphone, “Hello fellow revolutionaries,” drawing a standing ovation from the standing room only, packed Millsboro Fire Hall on September 2.

Lately, she has managed to stay focused on the issues and seemingly has artfully dodged the barbs of her detractors. O’Donnell speaks forcefully about creating more jobs saying, “this will happen when businesses are freed from endless taxes and bureaucratic red tape. I will work to cut spending and bring new jobs to Delaware,” O’Donnell said at a meeting of the 9-12 Delaware Patriots.

“They say we can’t afford to extend the Bush tax cuts. I say we can’t afford not to. Recovery must start with a rollback of liberal spending If we continue at this rate, what are we going to do, tax all of our productivity,” O’Donnell yelled to the applauding crowd.

O’Donnell, a pro-life advocate and protector of the Second Amendment is at her best when defending America’s freedoms. Camp supporters boldly call her opponent, current Delaware Representative, Mike Castle a RINO (republican in name only). They openly state that she is the only candidate who is a fiscal and social conservative candidate for the US Senate Seat in Delaware.

The polls have changed directions several times but as the primary election draws near, she has closed the gap, with her supporters never wavering. Solidarity within Delaware’s GOP leadership gives rise to new concerns over O’Donnell’s new national popularity.

Tea Party Express Representative from Sacramento, Tiffany Ruegner, who attended the meeting on Thursday evening pledged full support of her organization both financially and in the actual campaigning.

There would be a remarkably sad irony that may occur if O’Donnell is somehow elected.

Some on the right have created the fantasy that Castle will if elected, switch parties or resign, leaving the seat in Democratic hands.

But once the Senate Ethics Committee gets a good look at O’Donnell’s campaign expenses and uncovers the liklihood that she is living off her donations, she will quickly be forced from office. It would likley take less than a year to happen, perhaps only a few months if Democrats retain control of the Senate.

So the irony is the election of Christine O’Donnell would cause this seat to fall into Democratic hands faster than if it were to be won by Castle.

Perhaps she’s defying gravity for now. But as a flight instructor, one constant I remind all my students of whether they fly Falcon Jets or Cessnas is that gravity is relentless and it eventually wins.

Roseanne Cash endorsed O’Donnell??? On this very same site David Anderson condemns Roseanne Cash for being a pro choice Democrat who supports Michelle Rollins.

Ayotte, do you actually do any homework?? Thanks for proving once again that the O’Donnell team is a bunch of liars who can’t produce facts. Give us some links on Roseanne Cash. I have met and talked to Roseanne Cash. There is no way in hell she would endorse the chronic proven liar O’Donnell.

    Sure O’Donnel’s campaign defies gravity

its coz she’s full of nothing but hot air!!

    Michael
The fantasy that the GOP and Castlittes’ have is that O’Donnell is unelectable. That my friend is about to be proven false, as exhibited by the roaring crowd at Millsboro’s of energetic 9-12 Delaware Patriotrs’ supporters.
Give it up guys, This woman will represent the will of the people and they see it plainly.
Then again, we all see exactly what we want to. You guys see a RHINO that might vote with the R’s at least half of the time.
O’Donnell’s supporters see a young woman that will get in there and fight for America 100% of the time.

    TW
You are right on this one. It was Michelle Rollins that Roseanne Cash supported. Sorry about the mixup.

  6. on 05 Sep 2010 at 05:516Don Ayotte

    Michael:
The two possible scenarios you suggest about Christine O’Donnell and Mike Castle are all hyperbole and speculation.
They both could happen, but the chances either will happen at this point are pure unsubstantiated pundit preaching.
Everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon to be the first to make a point but I’ve decided to stick to the issues and work at getting her elected.

  7. on 05 Sep 2010 at 06:277stosselfan

O’Donnell “defies gravity” because of her supporters’ irrational refusal to face the music. They hate Castle so much they and so desperately want a more conservative candidate that they happily make excuses for her pattern of lies and character issues, and ignore the consequences of an O’Donell candidacy in the general election (i.e., a Coons’ victory and continued democratic control of the Senate).

It is true that O’Donnell’s supporters don’t care much for Mike Castle but everyone I’ve talked to at the 9-12 Delaware Patriots meeting was concerned about the issues and Castle’s voting record and were spouting hatred against Castle.
Personally, I believe that Christine’s candidacy holds water because she stands for the Republic and the Constitution. I agree with you that she is not perfect. Neither are you, and I certainly include myself in that group. The last perfect man died 2000 years ago, then rose from the dead in three days, and it wasn’t Mike Castle.
I believe that Castle is a bigger liar because he caused the people to believe that he would vote with fiscal conservative values and hasn’t done it. As time goes on, his voting record indicates that he is moving farther to the left. It doesn’t matter if he is a republican or not, if he doesn’t act like one, we don’t need him.

    One slight error

“It is true that O’Donnell’s supporters don’t care much for Mike Castle but everyone I’ve talked to at the 9-12 Delaware Patriots meeting was concerned about the issues and Castle’s voting record and were not spouting hatred against Castle.”

This is how the paragraph in my last posting was meant to read.

When O’Donnell fails to break 20% in the primary, all you patriots needs to resolve to to do the right thing and stay home in November in order to protest.

    Okay?

  11. on 05 Sep 2010 at 08:2711David Anderson

20%–I can’t see less than 40%. You need to get out more.

I can not predict who will win. The odds have to favor the guy who has 44 years in, is leading in the polls though barely, and has the entire party machine, but in this year half of the time that hasn’t worked. I think she has a 2 of 5 chance to win.

  12. on 05 Sep 2010 at 08:3312Hube

LOL … Trust Fund says 20% for O’Donnell. While I’m certainly no fan of hers, I am loving Trust Fund’s continued stupidity here, there, and everywhere,

  13. on 05 Sep 2010 at 08:3613mike

Castle and his supporters are hypocrits. They went after Christine because she recieved money from out of state when Castle has recieved 67% of his donations from out of state special interests. Also last week he was shown on the cover of the NJ holding and pointing a pistol. This image of him holding the pistol would mislead the public by making the reader think Castle was pro gun, when in fact he has an F rating from the NRA. However, once I read the article and then found out the gun was a “fake” gun, and not real, it didn’t bother me so much. “Fake” Republican holding a “fake” gun.

  14. on 05 Sep 2010 at 11:4214Windjammer

It was only a matter of time before Castle was revealed by somebody like the Communication Director of The Tea Party Express. The press release that leads this blogsite is a more accurate depiction of Mike Castle than I’ve ever seen.

  15. on 05 Sep 2010 at 15:4615Robert

The title should be “Why O’Donnell Defies Logic.”

  16. on 06 Sep 2010 at 07:4316Rick

..and ignore the consequences of an O’Donell candidacy in the general election (i.e., a Coons’ victory and continued democratic control of the Senate).…SF

Castle is a Democrat, and if that’s what I want, I’ll vote for a real one. I will not support the coffee shop fraud.
