9/12 in D.C.
Sep 12th, 2009 by Timothy Pancoast
I just got back from the 9/12 rally in D.C., and I am exhausted. The 9/12 Delaware Patriots took 5 busloads of people over there. There were also several other buses chartered by other Delaware groups and a sizable number of people that drove over on their own. All together Delaware sent over 500 citizens to Washington for this event.
I plan to add more video, but here is a little taste to start you off. Expect this post to be updated.
The Marchers begin to arive at the 9/12 rally in D.C.
(p.s. David I have gotten comfortable with posting videos through this pop out method, but if you ever want to turn these video links into standard video embeds feel free. Thanks for the help, I must have messed something up by adding another video.)
Update: This is probably one of my favorite news clips about the rally in DC simply because of the anchorwoman’s reactions. Sorry that the quality is low.
MSNBC Live report from Tea Party protest Washington D.C Freedom Plaza Saturday 9 12 2009
Update: Here is a speech given by Senator DeMint. This is one of the few that I got in their entirety. I am working to compile some of the clips I got from other speeches. Senator DeMint\’s Speech at the 9/12 Rally in Washington DC
Here is a link to a panoramic photo of the 9/12 event.

Good Job Tim. There was obviously a lot going on this weekend. I am looking forward to hearing your take on the day. From the snippets I saw C-Span actually did a decent job of covering the event.
Thanks for this, and thanks to all who attended. There were hundreds of thousands there in spirit !
http://delawarerepublican.wordpress.com/ has a few pics and vids.
Don’t believe the hype….2 million people attended the event. Starting tomorrow http://www.foundersvalues.com will have a page where people can submit their own photos from the event to be posted.
Tim, good to see Delaware well-represented, but I hope you guys weren’t the ones flying the US flag upside-down. (See 0:32 in the second clip.) I know the lefties think it’s clever to do, but it’s NEVER appropriate. In fact, as any Boy Scout will tell you, it’s a distress signal – as in, “my boat is sinking!”
G Rex – I mentioned that when I saw it as well. Totally not cool. There were the occasional jackasses as always will show but for the most part it was a wonderful event. I met a lot of people from across the country and for the first time in years I feel like the country gets it. Also, witnessed some idiot with a “Single Payer Now!” banner being escorted through the crowd by a dozen police officers. Not one problem with that, I enjoy comic relief but really, is that 80 year old woman going to harm the 30 year old man with the banner? I don’t think he needed the entire D.C. Police Department following him around.
The total attendence, according to the DC Fire Department, was 60,000 to 70,000. Please, let’s be accurate!
Here, check it out for yourself!
Precisely Perry, let’s be accurate. That estimate is not even close to what the pictures support and they do little justice. Spread your stupidity elsewhere please.
Perry I was there, I have seen the photos and other news outlets report far more than that. In the video clips I took alone you can count more than 100,000 people an that was just up close. You can’t hid what is happening and pretend that over 1,000,000 Americans don’t exist.
Apparently it was easier to see the numbers from further away. ABC must have been too close, because in the UK they were able to count a little higher.

The actual numbers are of secondary importance though. The people who need to know that we were there know and they will continue to be reminded of that fact when we call email and write their offices.
FYI: Glenn’s show today produced some facts to refute Perry’s liberal agenda:

Here is what happened to the organizers of the “Million Man March” back in 1995….
There is always a huge difference between the facts…and the park service.

The “DC Fire Department?” What do they know? They have enough trouble doing what they’re paid to do. Why not ask Marion Barry? Or, maybe Eleanor ‘Ed’ Holmes Norton? Or Gilbert Arenas?
Next time you guys should wear numbered shirts.
Evan Q: “That estimate is not even close to what the pictures support and they do little justice. Spread your stupidity elsewhere please.”
Evan, I cited a credible source, the DC Fire Department. You cited Glen Beck, who quoted an University of ?????? – he couldn’t even remember his source. Come on!
Moreover, the aerial view of the crowd, from which more accurate estimates can be made, turned out to be a fake, proven by a missing building that is now actually there.
Look, you wingnuts can believe whatever you wish, I don’t care, but your foolishness and desperation is quite apparent.
