When conservatives and those of faith opposed abortion on demand, they argued that the acceptance of this type of procedure would eventually lead to infanticide and pressured euthanasia. Liberals responded with "Oh that would never happen." Well once again liberals are wrong. It is coming to pass in Great Britain. Sick children and babies are being having food and hydration withheld because their cases are "futile". My experience is that any baby will die after not having food or water for a period of time. Use Your Gun Save Your Life

An overnight clerk at a store in Columbia South Carolina warded off three (3) armed robbers by pulling out her gun and returning fire after the robbers began shooting in her store. The clerk says she was in fear for her life after the 3 armed thugs began shooting in the air in her store. The 3 armed robbers had demanded cash and lottery tickets. The clerk hit one of the robbers in the upper body and is believed to have hit another. The third robber got away. Remember if you need help in seconds, the police are just minutes away.

Looking Ahead

  This will be my second post on the recent elections. The Raisin marketing program is up for review before the U. S. 47% of the raisin crop is diverted to government coffers in turn for marketing. The problem is that it is involuntary. In 2004, two heros of Americanism, Marvin and Laura Horne, made a federal case out of this 80 year overreach. This term, they will get their day before the Supreme Court. Tis the season to give thanks. And for the last 80 years, the federal government has required raisin producers to “give thanks” for the privilege of selling their raisins nationally by requiring them to fork over up to half of their raisins – for free. Don’t You Dare Shop On Thanksgiving

Back in the day, Blue Laws used to protect families. We as a society recognized that families needed time together to bond, worship, or whatever they choose to do one day a week and certain holidays. Those have fallen by the wayside for better or worse with the last vestige of Sunday liquor sales being repealed by the Democrats so people need not plan to drink themselves to death by there being no break in the system nor do families of drunks need not have any breaks. The Democratic Causes have elected new leaders due to the retirement of Speaker Gilligan and the forced retirement by voters of President Pro Tem DeLuca. The new leaders of the senate and house are designated to be current Senate Majority Leader Patricia Blevins, who will be the first woman in 60 plus years (political dynamo and Republican Vera Davis was the first and also the first woman to hold statewide office) to head the senate and the first Democratic woman, and current House Majority Leader Pete Schwartzkropf, and occasional reader and one time guest poster of this blog. Compromise:  When Republicans agree to do what Democrats want even if they believe it will harm the country.   That seems to be sole focus of the media on the so called fiscal cliff.  The media drumbeat has been a constant refrain to watch to see if Republicans stand in the way of President Obama and force the country off the fiscal cliff.  The fact is the country is already heading off a fiscal cliff by following current spending patterns.  We do not even have a budget.  We just appropriate wild sums of your money then tell the Congressional Budget Office to make sense of it. State of Suffering: The attack on Prescription Drugs Is Wrongheaded Policy

One day, we will finally get tired of worrying about if people get high. Most Americans think we are losing the war on drugs. I submit the reason is that we focus on the wrong objective. Bodenweiser Denies Charges

By way of an update, Eric Bodenweiser broke his silence just before his case review and denied the shocking charges of unlawful sexual contact with a child most of three decades ago, according to the News Journal. “The false allegation that has been presented close to a quarter of a century after the events alleged to have occurred is categorically, absolutely and forcefully denied!” Bodenweiser wrote, using all capital letters for emphasis. “The events exist only in the twisted mind of the accuser,” he concluded. While the secession cries denote an ignorant population, their desires are honest and well intended; not to break up the Union, but to put a stop to the nationalistic craze our Congress and WH has been on for nearly 100 years. Repealing the 17th Amendment would do exactly that- returning American to its intended republican form of government.
The pre-17th amendment system had its issues as well. At least now, there is no gerrymandering to manipulate the votes for the upper house and a few cannot give a way a senate seat. On the other hand, we lost something. The states now have little input in the federal system to our harm. Should we examine the state legislatures electing senators again?

My Thoughts On Secession

Petitions for secession are proliferating.  People from 49 states have petitioned the White House to leave the Union.  I understand the frustration with an overbearing Federal government which oversteps its bounds daily.  I fully support the reassertion of the 10th amendment as amended by the 13, 14th, 15th, 19th, 24th, and 26th amendments.  It is vital to restore a measure of balance to the system. Eurozone Sinks

According to the Financial Times, the Eurozone has sunk into another recession.  The UK is not part of the Zone and helped the EU overall avoid falling into an official recession.  France grew barely after shrinking barely the previous quarter which was just revised downward (who knows maybe this one will be as well.), but France is fighting hard to keep its economy stuck in no growth mode with its new socialist government.  German growth is a mere 2 tenths of a percent.  With the major economies stalled, there is no wealth to redistribute. In the U. Thanks to the Shale Revolution

The U. S. is poised to become the World’s largest producer of oil in 2017 thanks to new technology.  So much for the peak crisis projections.  It is a vindication of the Bush administration policies opening up new fields and technology and it shows the misreading of static analysis in dealing with the future. Obviously, we need to develop alternative energy sources and not fall back into complacency.  Oil will be harder to get and more expensive in the future because much of the easy oil has been reached.  My point is that hand wring alarmism does not solve problems.  Ingenuity, forward thinking policies, and free market rewards do.  If we had the current administration 12 years ago, America would not be poised for this next economic boom.
