A backdesert heresy condemned at least 60 times by leading clerics, called Saudi Wahhabism, got a boost from western sources right after WW2. Thanks to a gullible U. S. State department. We are still paying the price for that one. It is another reason that we can not abandon the fight. We helped create the problem. We need to adult up and fix it (PC jargon for man up). “In 1963, when Philby defected to Moscow, our State Department did something intolerable,” Loftus said. “They classified all the files top secret and they hid them down in the vaults to protect their own careers.” Loftus decided to forego a promising future with the U.S. Justice Department. Instead he blew the whistle. “I think I still hold the record for the longest segment ever on 60 Minutes. In 1982 it caused a minor national uproar,” Loftus said. “Mike Wallace got the Emmy, and my family Read more
Comment Rescue --David Anderson Afghanistan is a very complicated country. It is a feudal federal republic. We cannot act as if Karzai is the only power. We have to do what we did in Iraq, which is work with the tribal leaders and the central government. It is about our national security and the peace of the world. Precipitous withdraw will end the Pax Americana and plunge the world into eventual disorder as terror cells grow and cause instability in at least 70 nations. The picture of the next 20 years will be one of terrorism, civil war, crackdowns, and oppression. First to go after Afghanistan will be Yemen, then Pakistan, then Somalia and Sudan will be ramped up as bases. There will be increased instability in Africa and the Middle East. Europe will be flooded with refugees. Among these mostly decent people will be terror cells. Europe will be in flames in 10 years. The Philippines Read more
Many analysts think that it is. The revision of the GDP means that almost all of the aneamic economic growth was the result of the discontinued cash for clunkers and the soon to be discontinued housing tax credit. The only two items of the agenda to work and they are heading out the door. Even our President warns of a double dip. Today, America's second largest newspaper reported that the FDIC reports the biggest drop in business loans by banks on record. There are definitegreen shoots amid the dead branches of foreclosure, job cuts, lending contraction, bank failures, consumer caution, commodity inflation, and a currency crisis. Let's hope that they are not sprayed by the herbicide of stifling government coming out of the ruling party. The President needs to forget about a jobs summit photo op. He needs to attendsome good economic policy seminars and invite his congressional Read more

Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that your are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: Revelation 3:17 I believe that "progressives" or new left (loony left as I prefer) is well described by that classic quote. Even the few steps of common sense shown by the ruling regime in Washington are viewed with distain. The ruling regime has determined that our national interests are served by not kicking the Afghan people in the teeth. Human Rights have not mattered much to this regime. The profess a doctrine of realism. They make no protest to speak of to China. They make deals with the Sudan. They ignore the crushing of the opposition in Iran until they were drug into the discussion by the rest of the world. There is hardly a mention of the conditions of Taliban ruled Afghanistan. I have made no attempt to hide the fact that I am dissatisfied with the past performance of Rep. Mike Castle in congress. I do not feel that he represents my views on what I consider to be key issues, such as the environment, smaller government, and family values. Okay, so I have made my points based on his voting record and things that he has actually said. I have voiced my opinion that it is time for him to retire and for the GOP to support a candidate with the courage to move back towards the party's more conservative roots. I also have made it clear that I support Christine O'Donnell in her run for the same senate seat that Mr. Castle believes should be his, merely because he wants it. Many within the GOP have criticized Ms. O'Donnell and those who support her for not being team players. Many Republicans will tell you that Mr. Castle is the only one that can win Read more
Even with the "Climate Gate " e-mails that have exposed the out-and-out lies of the left's agenda when it comes to global climate change, Pres. Obama still intends to attend the Copenhagen climate summit. Where it is reported by Whitehouse sources that the President will personally commit the United States to reducing its carbon emissions by seventeen percent in the next decade and by eighty percent by mid-century. The President does this even though every estimate of any attempt to reduce carbon output shows that it will substantially raise the cost of energy. The CBO has released a number of $173.00 increase a year for a family of four, though common sense tells us the number would be higher. That $173.00 is only on energy. If you raise the cost of energy , you raise the cost of manufacturing and transportation, so everything that a family buys will cost more . From food Read more

The saga continues . Back on Dec.10,2008 H.R. 7321 was passed. This bill was titled "Auto Industry Financing and Reconstructing Act". It was more commonly known as the auto bailouts. This Act was intended to give the President and his designee the authority to hand out fourteen billion dollars to the big three auto makers to bail them out of their self-created financial problems. And yes , in case you haven't guessed by now, the honorable Rep. Mike Castle (RINO-De) voted for it. Now if that wasn't a fine example of Mr. Castle's conservative principles, well I just don't know. And while I'm at it let me point one other thing out about Mr. Castle's voting record. Often when I bring up this topic someone will point out how often Mr. Castle votes with Republicans. Well if you take the time to go through the voting record line Read more
Senate Democrats have included a monstrous pro-abortion mandate in health deform legislation. According to the NY Times, the senate bill has a requirement that an insurance plan covering abortion be available in every market. The so-called funding ban is viewed as an accounting sham. It may use private money for the abortion part and subsidize the rest with public money, but if it mandates abortions then it is just subsidizing policies that provide abortions. Suppose we agree in advance that we would go out to eat and I would help you afford it. You said you had $5 so I said that I would kick in after that. If I want to help you control your sugar and we went out to dinner then I said I would help you with dinner, but not dessert, would I be serious if I demanded the dessert menu be presented. I then found out that you had $5.00 so I decided to pay for all of the dinner and tip before dessert. Read more
By Justin Williams With the Bush tax cuts set to expire at the end of 2010 and both health care reform bills calling for increased tax revenue, the Obama Administration and Congress are about to saddle the American people one of the largest tax increases in history. The standard liberal litany for such a raid on taxpayers' pockets is that working Americans have a "moral obligation" to "feed the poor" -- or in the case of health care, pay their medical bills. This is ironic as, once again, yet another appointed member of the Obama Administration has come up short on paying their own taxes in a timely and orderly fashion. Lael Brainard, former Senior Fellow at the Brooking Institute, has been nominated to the position of undersecretary of the Treasury for International Affairs. But she like Tim Geithner, Tom Daschle, Ron Kirk, and Nancy Killfer before her, has proven to be what the IRS calls Read more

THANKSGIVING DAY 1789 BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - A PROCLAMATION Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor - and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness." Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that Read more
I have something to be thankful for... that President Obama is not as foolish as the commenters at Delaware Liberal who would abandon Afghanistan and pull back from fighting our foes everywhere in the world. They scoff at the danger and one geezer thinks 9/11 was a day of bad feelings. They have yet to apologize for condemning right wingers for murdering a census worker when it turns out to be suicide. I avoid mentioning other blogs lunacy because I don't have time for some fight. We have real issues in this country. Sometimes though it pays to realize that as bad as the ruling regime is, it could be worse. We could be ruled by DL. With that nightmare out of the way. What are you thankful for? Was that a backhanded compliment for him or what? Read more
This time In San Diego California, the Criminal thugs of ACORN demonstrate just how not to cooperate with a criminal investigation. The response of the San Diego Office of ACORN to a pending visit by Officials of the State Attorney General's Office was to toss and dump all documents in the hopes of non discovery. The willful destruction of records necessary for criminal investigations is in and of itself a crime. Some of ACORN'S handiwork. In addition to tossing documents neccessary to expose the illegal nature of ACORN'S activities, the ACORN activists and community organizers also threw out confidential loan and tax documents leaving clients exposed to possible identity theft and fraud. Nice guys these ACORN folks. The exposure of these clients is also in violation of Federal Statutes. Don't expect any help from our Nation's Department of Justice. Read more
House health reform proposal misses target of curbing costs (The News Journal - Editorial) www.castle.gov Wilmington | November 7, 2009 - The U.S House of Representatives is tentatively scheduled to vote this weekend on H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act. It is an attempt to reform the country's health care system, to include those now excluded from the system and to lower the runaway costs of the entire system. It will bring health insurance to more people, and that is a good thing. But the bill, as it is written, will not reform how health care is done in the country and it most certainly will not lower the system's costs. In fact, many of the savings the bill supposedly will bring are chimerical. Our health system is likely to grow more costly and our Medicare benefits for senior citizens will grow more expensive. H.R. 3962 supposedly will be paid Read more
by Delaware's own Lee Williams HBO recently aired an outstanding documentary by British filmmaker Dan Reed, which examines the terrorist attacks in India’s largest city that occurred one year ago and claimed 170 lives. The film “Terror in Mumbai” is available On Demand. CNN reporter Fareed Zakaria hosts the documentary, which was assembled using victim interviews, a tape of the interrogation of the lone surviving terrorist, and security camera footage. For those unfamiliar with the attacks, for 36 hours last November, a handful of Muslim terrorists struck 10 targets in Mumbai, including several large hotels, restaurants, a train station and a Jewish center. The shocking images show what can happen when an unarmed society is confronted by evil men with rifles. A handful of terrorists armed with Chinese Type-56 and AK-47s walk unmolested through hotel lobbies, train Read more
Presidential Proclamation -- Thanksgiving Day A PROCLAMATION What began as a harvest celebration between European settlers and indigenous communities nearly four centuries ago has become our cherished tradition of Thanksgiving. This day's roots are intertwined with those of our Nation, and its history traces the American narrative. Today, we recall President George Washington, who proclaimed our first national day of public thanksgiving to be observed "by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God," and President Abraham Lincoln, who established our annual Thanksgiving Day to help mend a fractured Nation in the midst of civil war. We also recognize the contributions of Native Americans, who helped the early colonists survive their first harsh winter and continue to strengthen our Nation. From our earliest days of independence, and in times of tragedy Read more
Alright so much for my week off. This is keeping me up tonight. Our Navy Seals captured one of the worst terrorists in the world, and now 5 years later they are facing charges because he claimed they punched him and bloodied his lip. Poor baby, he shouldn’t resist. He should be thanking Allah that we let him live. What type of insanity has infected the ruling party? We don’t even charge American correction officersfor assault in those circumstances. Why are we persecuting people that we should be rewarding? I hope Americans all over the nation will go to whitehouse.gov and express their concern. We need to support our troops not undermine and persecute them.
I am just a voter. I have only one vote to cast for those I choose to support. I am not privy to any of the Machiavellian workings of the GOP . I don't receive the internal memos . Mr. Steele has never called me up to ask my opinion, though I have sent it to him from time to time. I haven't put in long hours of phone calls and letter stuffing as so many have. And let me say that I respect all that have worked for candidates that they support. I haven't donated thousands of dollars to the party or to candidates. I am just a voter . I don't get paid lots of money to voice my opinion like O'Riely and Limbaugh. I am willing to give it freely, though many wish I wouldn't. I haven't gone to college to study political science or sociology. I have lived for nearly fifty years though, and have tried to seek out knowledge from as many sources as possible. Read more
I will keep a fine annual tradition alive. It is time for the Delaware Politics Annual Virtual Food Drive to help the food bank of Delaware. Please do what you can. U-6 is the only reason that you need. Demand for the food bank and Angel Food Ministries (future post) has multiplied. People are trying to keep their mortgage and bills up on half of their income. Something has to give. This Thanksgiving/Christmas/Hanukkah season is the not the time for people to be stuck with beans, rice, and potatoes. Thank you. May GOD bless your generosity. Remember even $5 provides 22 meals.
21 Delaware Lawmakers signed on to an Amicus Brief supporting the NRA's position to incorporate the 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms into the 14thAmendment's liberty clause which would apply it to the states. I am so delighted with these 21 heros that I am breaking my self imposed break from writing posts this week (everything that you saw me write except the interview was from this weekend--I hated that I had beat CNBC to the punch on U-6 but don't get credit). Unfortunately, we are 0 for 3 with our star congressional delegation. Personally, I believe that the fact the second amendment does not limit itself to Congress or the federal government makes incorporation a moot argument. If Congress is responsible for insuring a militia exists, why would the states be allowed to take away their ability to be armed? The second amendment by its nature applies to the states and federal Read more
